Hundreds of devotees took part in the 17th annual ratha yatra of Sri Krishna Balarama of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) here on Saturday.
The colourful yatra began from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the Balarama Gate of Mysuru palace around 5.30 p.m. and passed through the Gandhi Square, Sayyaji Rao Road, Small Clock Tower, Devaraj Urs Road, Narayan Shastri Road, Ramaswamy Circle, JLB Road, RTO Circle, New Kantharaja Urs Road and Jayanagar 2nd Main Road, before culminating at the ISKCON temple in Jayanagar.
Pratap Simha, MP, M.K. Somashekar, MLA, G. Madhusudan, MLC, and several other dignitaries were present when the 35-feet high rath yatra was flagged off.
Chanchalapathi Dasa, senior vice-president, ISKCON Society, and vice-chairman, Akshaya Patra Foundation, presided. ‘Prasadam’ was distributed along the route.
