Hookah bars raided

The City Crime Branch (CCB) on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids on hookah bars in three places in the Ccity and booked cases against the owners of the premises and the patrons.

Police said three separate teams of policemen raided the hookah bars on Kalidasa Road in Jayalakshmipuram police station limits, Adipampa Road, and Temple Street, the last two in V.V. Puram police station limits, and booked cases under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003. The owners of were penalised Rs. 1,000 each. — Special Correspondent
