Samaj Parivarthan Samudaya (SPS) founder president S.R. Hiremath has said that he plans to contest the general elections in 2019.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Hiremath said the coalition comprising of Jan Sangram Parishat, Samaj Parivarthan Samudaya and other like-minded organisations would enter the fray to ensure able administration and social justice. “I too aspire to contest the general elections in 2019 and ground work for the same has already begun,” he said.
He further said the Swaraj India, Karnataka Shakti Sanghatane, AAP, CPI and CPI(M) have decided to come together. The Jan Sangram Parishat would be holding voters’ awareness programmes across the State on November 1. Key issues like social justice, keeping alive democracy, and equality to all would be the highlight of the rally.
The election strategy would be knitted together on the lines of the united struggle which was launched against illegal mining in the State, he said. “Winning the election is not important here, but this is an effort to create awareness among the people on the need to float an alternative political avenue,” he added.
