S.R. Hiremath, social activist, has demanded the immediate arrest of Lokayukta Justice Y. Bhaskar Rao for his alleged involvement and support to his son, Ashwin, in the extortion ring.
He was addressing at a press conference on the sidelines of the programme of Samvedana Yatra at Hanchinal village in Shahapur taluk of Yadgir district on Friday.
Mr. Hiremath said that Mr. Rao was aware of the alleged extortion ring and other corruption charges levelled against the officials of Lokayukta but did not taken any steps to prevent such illegal activities to uphold the dignity of the institution.
He alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is protecting several Ministers involved in land scams and demanded immediate action against K.J. George, D.K. Shivakumar, T.B. Jayachandra, R.V. Deshpande, and Dinesh Gundurao for their involvement in land grabbing charges.
