Heavy rain in Shivamogga district

Heavy rain, accompanied by wind and lightening, that occurred on Saturday caused a lot of inconvenience to people.

Hosanagar and villages in Sagar taluk plunged into darkness as several electricity poles were uprooted there due to wind and rain.

Bridge damaged

The bridge constructed across Nandihole stream on the outskirts of Hosanagar has been severely damaged. As a result, the vehicular movement between Hosanagar and Sagar was disrupted on Saturday.

In Shivamogga, the work of asphalting a road connecting the Kuvempu Road with the 100 ft. road had to be suspended owing to heavy rain and wind.

Torrential rain was also reported from several places in Sorab, Shikaripur and Bhadravati taluks.

No casualty reported

However, there were no reports of any casualty from anywhere in the district.
