Ksheera Bhagya for children with disabilities

He says the move will ensure that students in rural areas do not develop an ‘inferiority complex’

On the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava, the Chief Minister announced the extension of the Ksheera Bhagya scheme to 10,567 children with disabilities studying in schools run by the non-governmental organisations in the State. He said that more than 58.3 lakh students are already beneficiaries of the scheme.

Under the scheme, students of government and government-aided schools and children in anganwadis will get 150 ml milk five times a week. Introduced by the previous Siddaramaiah government, this is one of the schemes aimed at mitigating malnutrition
