HC notice to State on plea seeking CBI probe into Ambidant case

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ordered issue of notice to the State government on a PIL petition seeking transfer of the probe into the alleged scam by Ambidant Markating Pvt. Ltd. since the city’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) has failed to probe the alleged role of various police officers, former Ministers, and elected representatives.

A vacation Division Bench comprising Justice H.T. Narendra Prasad and Justice Ashok S. Kinagi passed the order on the petition filed by Lanchamukta Karnataka Nirmana Vedike, Bengaluru.

Claiming that the then assistant commissioner of police attached to the CCB had written a letter to the State Police Chief in November 2018 about alleged involvement of financial transactions between several influential persons by quoting their names, the petitioner alleged that no action or probe was undertaken against the persons whose names were mentioned in the letter.
