“Kolar MLA Varthur Prakash is missing. Kindly search and trace him out.” This is the gist of a memorandum submitted to the Superintendent of Police Ajay Hilori here on Thursday.
In the memorandum, the district unit of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene alleged that the legislator, who is supposed to respond to the plight of the people of his constituency, has not been seen for the last four months.
Mr. Prakash had assured corruption free administration during the election campaign. However, corruption is rampant in the government offices and the officers are creating fake documents to grab the land, the outfit alleged. “People are unable to speak to Mr. Prakash as his cell phone remain switched off most of the time”, district president of the Raitha Sangha Harikumar said.
The outfits urged the police in the complaint that the MLA should be traced out immediately and presented before the people. They (people) will teach him the lesson about the responsibilities of people’s
representatives, they said.
Mr. Prakash had not attended recent government functions, including the inauguration of the ‘Kolar Darshana’ project of the Tourism Department and Basava Jayanthi celebrations.
