Handloom exhibition

A 5-day exhibition of handloom products of Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Co-operative Society Limited was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram at Adishakti Towers (Opp. Fire Brigade Station) on Khanapur road in the city on Saturday.The exhibition here showcases the ‘Cool Comforts’ — sarees of pure silk, Kanchipuram, Arni, Coimbatore soft silk, designer silk, cotton, Kora cotton, bed sheets, pillow covers, lunghies, carpets, towels, churidar materials, nighties, petticoats, floor mats and readymade shirts. The TN government had extended 20% rebate on silk and cotton varieties.
