Home Minister K.J. George on Tuesday said the government was considering handing over the probe into the rape case filed against Ramachandrapura mutt seer Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami to the CID.

He told reporters that it would be better for the CID to probe into this case as it was already looking into a similar case against the seer. He said the government will not yield to any pressure with respect to the probe.

The 24-year-old woman, on Saturday, had filed a complaint accusing the seer of rape.
