Gold bars seized from aircraft

The Air Intelligence Unit of Goa Customs on Wednesday thwarted a major attempt of gold smuggling at the Dabolim International Airport by seizing 2,331 grams of gold valued at Rs.58,29,738 from the rear toilet of Air India Flight AI- 994 which flies in the Dubai-Goa-Bengaluru sector.

Officers of the Air Intelligence Unit at Dabolim International Airport, Goa, rummaged the aircraft on intelligence inputs and recovered 20 gold bars from the rear toilet.

The gold bars were concealed behind the toilet. As it was unclaimed, nobody was arrested. Investigation is on.
