Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao has written to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy seeking speedy nominations and adequate representation to Congress and JD(S) party workers and members in the various committees, such as Ashraya, Land Grants and Akrama-Sakrama at taluk and district levels.
Pointing out that there is a need to dissolve all existing committees and set up new ones at the earliest, he said the Chief Minister should ensure that Congress and JD(S) members and party workers are appropriately recognised.
While a 2:1 ratio of Congress and JD(S) members should be maintained in the nominations in constituencies represented by the Congress, and where it stands second, it should be vice versa (2:1 ratio of JD(S) and Congress) in constituencies represented by the JD(S) and where the party stands second, the letter stated.
He also requested in the letter to direct his Cabinet colleagues to follow this ratio.
