Belagavi-based KLS Gogte Institute of Technology has succeeded in placing 85 % of its graduates through campus interviews.
In the placement interviews, companies made 650 offers to college students from engineering, management and computer application sectors.
As many as 75 A list companies recruited young talent. The companies included TCS, Texas Instruments, IBM, Infosys, PWC, Principal Global Services, Mercedes Benz, Tata Motors, Bosch, General Electric, Brillio, AllGo Systems, Pelatro, Berger Paints, KPIT, CoreEL, Tata Elxsi , Tata Technologies, Wipro, Kirloskar Ferrous, Subex, Pelatro, Decathlon, Axis Bank, ICICI, Berger Paints, Continental, and Mindtree.
The highest salary offered on campus was ₹ 12.60 lakh per annum by Texas Instruments. The average salary was ₹ 4.20 lakh per annum. TCS recruited 185 candidates, the highest from GIT this year, across all colleges in the State.
Companies like IBM, PWC, TCS Digital, Principal Global and Mercedes Benz have offered internships to students of sixth semester and eighth semester.
“We have continued to secure good placements in terms of quality and quantity,” GIT governing council chairman U.N. Kalakundrikar said in a press release.
“GIT is among the few colleges in the State to have engaged with such prestigious companies for internships and campus recruitments. Our scheme involves six months of internship as an integral part of the syllabus. As per VTU examination results, we stand first in North Karnataka and fourth in the State, with 11 ranks and one gold medal in VTU examinations,” he said.
”We were ranked among the best tech schools in India by Competition Success Review for excellence in academics and industry interface; we were featured in the Great Indian Institutes-2018 by Forbes India Marquee and ranked 26th among private engineering colleges,” he said.
We have signed MoU with Japanese institutions under a programme of the government of Japan. This association is a new step to bridge the gap between industry and academics. We also have collaborations with Stanford University and New Paltz, both in the U.S., and Strathclyde Univeristy, the U.K.,” he said.
The college management will provide admissions at reduced fees to meritorious students and achievers in the State and national level sports and also NCC cadets and those from the NSS. We have a merit-based concession scheme for wards of Army personnel and fee waiver scheme for KCET toppers,” he said.
He congratulated students who have been won placements and Principal Anand Deshpande and Placement Officer Satish Hukkeri.
