A galaxy of film stars converged at the release of Dr. Rajkumar Samagra Charitre , the two-volume biography of Kannada thespian, here on Thursday.
Yesteryear actors Sowcar Janaki, Krishna Kumari, Pratima Devi, Jayanti and Jaimala, who have shared screen space with Rajkumar, were cynosure of all eyes at Kuvempu Kalakshetra, where the 2,148-page biography written by Doddahulluru Rukkoji was released by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Parvathamma Rajkumar, her sons Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, and her daughters were present.
The two volumes had a dramatic launch. They were brought out of a replica of Rajkumar’s house at Gajanur village and handed over to Mr. Siddaramaiah. The Chief Minister recalled Rajkumar’s contribution to the Kannada film industry. He recounted the occasion when poet Kuvempu and Rajkumar were conferred Karnataka Ratna award in Kuvempu Kalakshetra.
