Four students were killed after the car in which they were traveling met with an accident on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway, on the outskirts of Bengaluru in the early hours of Friday.

The incident occurred near Kempanahalli/Sangabasavana Doddi village, Ramnagaram district. The car was coming towards Bengaluru from Mysuru, when it hit the median, crossed the lane and rammed into a Haryana registered truck, but not known where it was heading to. The driver is absconding.

Police gave the names of the victims as — Joel Jacob, Jeena Divya and Nikhit. The name of one more victim is yet to be known. The deceased are said to be medical students — two from Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Bengaluru and other two from VIT college, Vellore, Tamil Nadu and all of them hailing from Kerala.
