Four persons from Bengaluru, who were on a picnic, drowned in a lake near Chickballapur on Wednesday.
Rural police gave the names of the deceased as Sadath (23), Asif (9), Sabah (12) and Huriya (13).They hail from Bhoopasandra.
The tragedy occurred when they ventured into the Srinivasasagara lake near Poshettihalli under Chickballapur Rural police limits.
A total of eight people visited Nandi Hills near Chickballapur first and from there they proceeded to Srinivasasagara lake. When three children were drowning, driver of the car Sadath reportedly attempted to rescue them. However, he also drowned, sources said.
