Four die in accident

Four persons, including a boy, died and one person seriously injured, when a car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry parked by the side on National Highway 209, near Chikkahole check-post in Chamarajanagar taluk on Monday.

The victims were returning from Tamil Nadu after visiting a temple at Alagud in T. Narsipur taluk of Mysore district. The driver could not see the parked vehicle owing to fog in the early hours of the morning and hence the accident, sources said.

The victims have been identified as Siddaraju (62), Chidanandamurthy (50), Shreyas (21) and Poorvik (8), who was seriously injured and died on the way to K.R. Hospital in Mysore. Suresh, who was injured, has been admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysore.

The Ramasumdra police visited the spot and registered a case.
