A dispute over the common wall between neighbours has resulted in a murder at Tunga Nagar locality in Shivamogga.

The victim Riyaz Pasha (19), son of Anwar Pasha and resident of Tunga Nagar had differences with his neighbour Abdul over a common wall that divided the two houses. The families had frequent quarrels over the issue.

According to the police, Abdul and his wife Nazia promised one Rasul Khan, a construction worker that they would get their daughter married to him if he teaches a lesson to the family of Anwar Pasha. Rasul Khan, along with a friend Mohammed Ali, took Riyaz to an open field near Tunga Nagar on May 19 and stabbed him to death.

The family members of Riyaz lodged a complaint with the police stating that their son has gone missing. On Saturday, some residents found Riyaz's dead body in a decomposed state and alerted police officials. Police, after investigations, arrested Abdul, Nazia Abdul, Rasul Khan and Mohammed Ali for their alleged role in the murder.

A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code against the four with Tunga Nagar police station.
