Floral tributes were offered to the Samadhi (tomb) of late scion of Mysuru royal family Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar at Madhuvana here on Wednesday to mark his first death anniversary.

Mr. Wadiyar died on December 10, 2013, in Bengaluru. Though rituals associated with Wadiyar’s death anniversary as per the Hindu calendar were performed from November 29 to December 1, Mayor R. Lingappa member of the royal family Varchas Lingaraje Urs and Bhashyam Swamiji were among those, who paid their respects at the Samadhi on Wednesday.

Mr. Lingappa said he was paying homage to Mr. Wadiyar on behalf of the residents of Mysuru. Mr. Urs said the royal family hoped to continue the royal traditions associated with the Mysuru with the co-operation of the people of the region. Bhashyam Swamiji recalled the contributions of the erstwhile Wadiyars to the people of Mysuru.
