Five killed in two road accidents

Five persons were killed in two road accidents in Koppal district on Sunday.

Three persons, including a woman, died on the spot when the multi-utility vehicle (MUV) in which they were travelling rammed a stationery lorry on NH 50 near Hosahalli village in Koppal taluk during the early hours of Sunday. Six others sustained injuries. The deceased were identified as H. Bheemanagouda (58), Parvatamma Uppar (48), Hanumanthraya Choudhary (50).

All of them were residents of Sasnur in Vijayapura district. They were returning after attending a house warming function in Bengaluru.

In another accident, two persons died, after their SUV rammed a tree, after the driver reportedly lost control, near Bhanapur cross in Yelburga taluk on Sunday. Three others have sustained injuries.

Police gave the names of the deceased as Nanasaheb (32) and Rajendra Kasabe (32). The injured have been admitted to the district hospital in Koppal.

They were from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra and were returning from Tirupati.
