The Forum of Environmental Journalists in India (FEJI – feji.org.in), and the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE – atree.org) have announced four three-month fellowships of Rs. 1 lakh each for journalists to travel and write on topics based on specific environmental themes.
Themes to be covered are: Forest Canopies: the last biotic frontier; Restoring the Destroyed; Migratory Birds and their fate in a developing India; and Water and Wastewater.
This is open to professional journalists, including freelancers, with at least five years’ experience in reporting environmental issues.
Applications need to be sent with a CV, online links or scanned copies of three published stories, a letter of support from the editor, and a cover letter.
Of these one is for journalists from TV or radio, two for print and one for online/web journalists. Applications have to reach, by May 28, 2015, to fejifellowships@gmail.com.
Each fellow will need to produce five 1,000-word stories, or 10news stories of approximately 500 words.
