Updated - March 29, 2016 06:04 pm IST - Udupi:

Miscreants set fire to Mandara Fancy Shop and Milk Parlour in Kalash Complex in Gundmi village in the intervening night of August 27 and 28. A refrigerator, showcase, milk trays, fancy items and electrical equipment were gutted. The building though is intact.

According to the complainant and owner of the shop, Pratap Kundar, the miscreants seem to have used petrol. Nearly 80 litres of milk, curd and buttermilk packets too were lost. The overall loss is estimated to be Rs. 45,000. The incident came to light when Mr. Kundar came to open the shop for the day.
