A five-day-long exhibition of medicinal plants, organised by Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, began at Chandravana in Saraswathipuram in Mysuru on Monday.

During the exhibition, which will be open till the World Environment Day (June 5), several varieties of medicinal plants including some rare trees will be made available to the public and institutions.

“While the plants will be given free to private and public institutions, a nominal fee of Rs. 10 will be collected from the general public”, said Dr. Vinay T.R. from the Government Ayurvedic College.

More than 20 to 25 varieties of plants, which have been reared and multiplied by the Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital in its garden at Chandravana, will be available to the public during the exhibition.

“Many plants available at Chandravana can be used as home remedies,” Dr. Vinay added.
