C.S. Puttaraju, MP, said on Monday that he will initiate measures to ensure basic amenities at the Government College for Women on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway here. Speaking at the inauguration of National Youth Day celebrations at the college here to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Mr. Puttaraju said he was keen on setting up a library, construct an auditorium, additional rooms and provide sports equipment and other facilities for students. He suggested the youth to emulate Swami Vivekananda to excel in their chosen fields of interest, as the iconic hero represented India’s rich culture. He called upon the girls to join together and fight atrocities.

The programme was organised to spread awareness about the significance of Swami Vivekananda’s life and message among students, principal of the college Leela Appaji said.
