Educationist felicitated in Bidar

Members of several associations jointly organised a civic reception for educationist Abdul Quadeer in Bidar on Sunday.

They praised his commitment to spreading awareness about education and career among parents and students in a backward district like Bidar.

Contributions

P.C. Jaffer, Deputy Commissioner, recalled the contribution of the Shaheen Group of Institutions, headed by Dr. Quadeer, in the orientation programme for IAS and other civil service examinations, training of students and teachers in English teaching and in providing free seats to meritorious students from poor families in private colleges.

He said that consistent efforts by the government and other stake holders had led to a significant improvement in the teaching-learning process and in SSLC and PUC results.

N. Dharam Singh, MP, said the Gulbarga University had taken the right decision in conferring a honorary doctorate on Dr. Quadeer.

He said the Shaheen Group of Institutions had led to better relations between various communities and religious groups by admitting a large number of students from non-minority communities.

Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, MLA, lauded the efforts of the education society in training students for medicine, engineering, farm sciences and other courses.

Khaji Arshed Ali, former MLC, Ramesh Patil Solpur, syndicate member of Gulbarga University, Channabasappa Halahalli, Basava Kumar Patil and others were present.
