Edge career counselling session in Hubballi today

The Hindu-Edge Career Counselling Session 2019, organised to help students make informed career choices and chalk out their future plans, will be held in Hubballi on Sunday.

The programme will be h eld at Bio Tech Hall, BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Vidyanagar, Hubballi. Students need to be present at the venue by 9.30 a.m. Registration is free.

The programme will have resource persons from the fields of engineering, medical sciences and general education, apart from an official from Karnataka Examinations Authority who will throw light on CET counselling and the admissions procedure for students and parents. Ramesh Desai, general manager (admin and HRD), Hubballi Electricity Supply Company, will be the chief guest.

Prakash Wari, professor and HOD of Paediatrics, KIMS; Sanjay Kotabagi, Dean of Student Welfare, BVB College of Engineering and Technology; Niranjan, KEA official; Satish V.M. of Aakash Institute; and Fatha Khan of CIGMA Foundation will be t he resource persons. After brief presentations by the resource persons, there will be an interactive session with them.

Each participant will receive a free copy of ‘The Nxt Step’, a career handbook published by The Hindu that has articles on changing trends that will help students plan their next step.

The Hindu EDGE Career Counselling event sets a benchmark in educational and professional guidance. It acts as a platform to connect students and parents with speakers and educational institutions. This will help students make right decisions after getting the necessary counselling and guidance.

The Hindu invites students who have cleared their II PU this year, besides those enrolled for II PUC as well as their parents, to apprise themselves with the career opportunities available to them, the trends in the industrial sector, and the future prospects in various streams.
