An indefinite sit in protest by Dalit Sangharsha Samiti entered the fourth day on Wednesday.
The district unit of the outfit launched the stir near Deputy Commissioner’s office premises on Sunday demanding CBI probe in to the suicide of research scholar of University of Hyderabad Rohit Vemula.
The outfit also demanded that a high-level special commission should be set up to solve the problems faced by students of Dalit communities and backward classes. The government should implement the recommendations of the commission, they said.
DSS district convener Harohalli Ravi, H. Rajappa, C.V. Nagaraj, and Manjula are among the functionaries leading the dharna.
