Drinking water supply schemes inaugurated

Minister for Small Scale Industries and district in-charge Satish L. Jarkiholi has laid the foundation stone for a multi-village drinking water supply scheme for the benefit of those living in Dhanratti and nine other villages of Belagavi taluk at a function held at Muchandi on Saturday.

Belagavi City Corporation Mayor Kiran Sayanak, Suresh C. Angadi, MP, and officials of Belagavi Zilla Panchayat were present.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone, he said that the government was working towards providing clean and safe drinking water to those living in villages. “The development works are a mirror to the government in power,” he said.

The officials in-charge of various departments and projects must work efficiently to achieve the objectives of the government by implementing various programmes in a time-bound and cost-effective manner, he said.

On the occasion, he distributed LPG stoves to the 175 beneficiaries.
