Don’t succumb to political pressure: CM tells PSI probationers

He was speaking at the passing-out parade of 41st batch of police sub-inspector probationers

Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy advised the Police Sub-Inspector probationers passing out of Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) on Monday to resist political pressure while discharging their duties.

Speaking after taking the salute at the passing-out parade of the 41st batch of police sub inspector probationers at the KPA here, Mr Kumraswamy also advised them against lobbying for plum postings. He appealed to them to vow that they would not yield to political pressure while protecting the citizens.

The parade reviewed by the CM in the presence of Home Minister M.B. Patil and senior police officials including Director General of Police Neelamani N. Raju, Director General of Police (Training) Padam Kumar Garg and Director of KPA Vipul Kumar, was the culmination of eleven months of training a total of 287 sub-inspector probationers underwent from February 12, 2018. The probationers included 50 women.

The sub-inspector probationers were trained in investigation, maintenance of peace and public order, VVIP security, yoga, swimming, equestrian, unarmed combat, weapon training, field craft, handing firearms and explosives, revolver and pistol firing. They included MBA, MSC, MA, ME and LLB graduates among others.

The Chief Minister’s sword for the All Round Best Probationer was secured by Tippu Sultan Nayakwadi from Haveri district, who is also a post graduate – MA in Political Science – from Karnatak University in Dharwad.
