A.N. Poorna Chandra, student of Masters’ PU College in Hassan, has scored 590 in II PU (Science) examinations held in March this year.
He is said to be the highest scorer from Hassan district. The Deputy Director of PU Education is yet to announce the district topper officially.
Speaking to The Hindu minutes after getting his result, Poorna Chandra said his hard work and support of his parents and college staff helped me secure 98.3 per cent marks. He wants to study medicine as he is hopeful of getting good ranking in the Common Entrance Test (CET). He had scored 97.60 per cent in SSLC.
Poorna Chandra is the son of A. Nagaraj, Head Master of the Government High School at Baguru in Channarayapatna taluk and Lalitha, a home-maker. “My parents, elder sister and teaching staff in the college guided me all through my studies. I am grateful for their support”, he said.
