Rajendra Cholan has directed stopping all road digging works in the city with immediate effect. The Minister in charge of the district

Vinay Kulkarni had chaired the meeting which was called to discuss the issues from ongoing road digging works in the city. When Mr. Kulkarni sought explanation from the PWD officials they were not present. Similarly, the representatives of Reliance Communications, GAIL, Adani group, Hescom and others too were not present at the meeting.

Irked over this, the Minister sought an explanation from the officials, but did not get a satisfactory answer. Mr. Cholan then instructed officials to stop all digging works till the next meeting.

Meanwhile, a decision was taken to prepare a chart of the roads which have to be dug for different works and fix timeframe and responsibilities to the firms taking up digging works.
