DHO in Lokayukta net

The Lokayukta police have trapped District Health Officer (DHO) Nagaraj Naik while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from a group D employee here on Saturday.

Complainant Thimmappa was a group D employee, working on honorarium basis at the community health centre at Holehonnur village. In a complaint with the Lokayukta, Mr. Thimmappa had alleged that Mr. Naik was demanding Rs. 20,000 as bribe for completing certain formalities for regularisation of his services. The complainant had paid Rs. 15,000 to the official. The Lokayukta police arrested Mr. Naik while allegedly accepting the balance of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant at his residence here.
