Davangere has recorded a total of 85.87 per cent polling in the Gram Panchayat elections held here on Tuesday. Of the total 9,26,544 voters 7,95,646 voters have exercised their franchise.
According to Deputy Commissioner S.T. Anjankumar there were a total of 1,56,506 voters in Davangere taluk in which 1,36,118 voters have exercised their franchise recording 83.80 per cent voting. In Harihar taluk there were 1,04,789 voters in which 91,091 voters have exercised their franchise recording 86.93 per cent polling and in Honnalli taluk there were a total of 1,57,470 voters in which 1,35,321 voters have exercised their franchise recording 85.93 per cent voting.
In Chennagiri taluk there were 2,17,022 voters in which 1,81,854 voters have voted recording 83.80 percent polling, in Harapanhalli there were 1,75,527 voters in which 1,52,777 have voted recording 86.47 percent voting and in Jagalur taluk there were 1,15,230 voters in which 99,485 recording 86.34 per cent, he added.
