Dairy staff seek better facilities

The employees of Rural Primary Milk Producers’ Cooperative Societies have submitted a memorandum to district administration seeking better service condition for them.

Around 45,000 staff of 13,000 such societies across the state is working with a monthly wages of mere Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000, the employees said in the memorandum. They demanded that the labour laws should be applied to these staff and their wages be revised.

The Kolar and Chickballapur Milk Union Ltd should provide provident fund and minimum wages should be given, they said.
