Karnataka State Government Daily Wage Employees Federation has set June 30 as the deadline for the State Government to meet all of its demands, failing which, it would launch indefinite strike.
In a press release issued here, President of the Federation K.S. Sharma has said that the executive committee of the Federation has taken the decision to launch indefinite strike in Bengaluru from July 13 during the legislature session. The decision was taken at the executive committee meeting held at Vishwashrama Chetana in Hubballi on Saturday, he has said.
The meeting was attended by district leaders of the Federation and addressed by President of the All Karnataka Primary School Teachers Association, B.F. Vijapur and others.
The Daily Wage Employees Federation has been demanding cent per cent DA and HRA to eligible daily wage employees, grant of new pension scheme, compassionate appointment to the dependents of the employees who die while in service apart from other demands.
Another demand of the Federation is that daily wage employees with ten years of service should be considered for terminal benefits. It has also demanded abolition of the contract system and regularising the services of contract employees working in the departments of irrigation, forest, social welfare, health and registration.
