All India Congress Committee member Digvijay Singh, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G. Parameshwar and other senior leaders of the party would take part in the convention. Minister for Social Welfare and district in-charge Minister H. Anjaneya has said.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said that people of the State gave a clear majority to the party with a hope to get a stable government and the party has met their expectations.

It also launched several programmes including Anna Bhagya scheme to ensure meals to every citizen every day. “The party has already fulfilled majority of the promises made during the last assembly elections,” he said.

Congress workers from different parts of the State including Chitradurga, Ballari, Shivamogga and Haveri will take part in the convention.

The convention would focus on boosting the confidence of party workers and encourage them to highlight the schemes of government for their 100 per cent success, he said.

Mr. Anjaneya also said that the Congress government had given top priority to social welfare schemes and had spent a total of Rs. 16,320 crore, two times the amount that the previous BJP government in the State utilised.
