Congress has failed to attract investments: BJP

June 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - Shivamogga:

B.S. Yeddyurappa, national vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should take a cue from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who accompanied Mr. Modi during his recent Bangladesh tour.

Mr. Modi had invited Mr. Siddaramaiah to his recent China tour. Mr. Siddaramaiah could have used the opportunity to apprise the Chinese entrepreneurs of the investment opportunities in Karnataka.

It was unfortunate that Mr. Siddaramaiah skipped the tour for political reasons. The Congress government in Karnataka had failed to attract investment and thereby generate new jobs, he told presspersons here on Monday.

Mr. Yeddyurappa expressed displeasure over improper utilisation of the Suvarna Soudha at Balagavi. In the wake of boundary dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra reaching the Supreme Court, the State government had announced to conduct the monsoon session at both Bengaluru and Belagavi, he said.
