Conductor returns lost bag with jewellery to passengers

A passenger who had left behind a bag with gold worth ₹2.5 lakh while alighting at Channapatna was relieved when the conductor of the KSRTC bus she was travelling in discovered the bag and ensured it was returned to her. Jayadeva, the conductor, returned the bag, which contained two necklaces, two earrings and other jewellery.

On Sunday, the bus was plying from Kollegal to Bengaluru. A group of four passengers boarded the bus at Malavalli. While alighting at Channapatna, one of them left behind the bag. After the the bus reached Bengaluru, the conductor noticed the bag and found its owner’s contact details inside.

He contacted the group and and asked them to come to Satellite Bus Station on Mysuru Road. The valuables were handed over to the owners in the presence of the depot manager and other officials. “The bag had been kept in the luggage space. While alighting at Channapatna, the group left it [there]. When the bus reached Bengaluru, I noticed it. The owners thanked me when I returned the bag to them,” Mr. Jayadeva said.
