Regional Commissioner (Kalaburagi Division) and Secretary of Hyderabad Karnataka Regional Development Board Subodh Yadav reviewing progress of HKRDB works in Bidar on Tuesday.

Regional Commissioner Kalaburagi Division and Secretary of Hyderabad Karnataka Regional Development Board (HKRDB) Subodh Yadav has directed officials concerned to complete the works taken up under HKRDB grants within the stipulated time. He specified that the works taken up in 2014-15 and 2015-16 should be completed before September this year and those taken up in 2016-17 and 2017-18 should be ready before December this year.

Reviewing the progress of works taken up under HKRDB funds at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bidar on Tuesday, Mr. Yadav pointed out that non-submission of third party inspection reports pertaining to completed works was causing inordinate delay in releasing funds. “Some officers are not submitting the third party inspection report even after the completion of the works. This barred us from releasing the amount. Every officer concerned should ensure that every completed work should get inspected by eligible third parties and submit the report within the stipulated time,” he said. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner and the Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat to have district-level meetings on a regular basis to ensure that the HKRDB works were progressing as per the project plans.

Laying stress on transparency in the implementation of projects, Mr. Yadav revealed that software for tracking and monitoring HKRDB works was under development. “The software would help the general public to get complete details of the ongoing and completed projects. Till the software is ready for use, the officials are required to update the details in the existing system,” he said.

HKRDB Joint Director Basavaraj told officials to take extra care about the issues before taking up projects. “We need to ensure that the land on which we are going to implement a project is dispute-free. It is also important that a project is not taken up under multiple schemes,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner H.R. Mahadeva, Zilla Panchayat CEO R. Selvamani, Superintendent of Police T. Shridhar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rudresh Ghali and other officers representing different departments were present.
