The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), which had invited applications for postgraduate medical and dental counselling for admissions to private colleges last week, has cancelled the counselling and decided to refund the amount collected from students.
This follows a meeting with the State government on Thursday after they agreed to have a common counselling through the Karnataka Examinations Authority using the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) PG ranks. The consortium had received over 1,900 applications. It has decided to refund ₹800 paid by each candidate.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority said it would open their registration portal. “Many candidates from the State have applied and we have completed the verification process. Those who have applied already need not apply, but the portal will be open for fresh candidates, particularly those from outside Karnataka,” a source in the KEA said.
