The Citizen Connect app, a platform connecting the Chief Minister with citizens, and Farmers’ Crop Survey app that helps in delivery of government services to farmers during natural disasters, were launched by Mr. Siddaramaiah here on Tuesday.
The Citizen Connect app will reveal various government projects and achievements, and citizens can directly report their grievances to the Chief Minister. It will also provide details about the Chief Minister and his vision for the future.
“In the digital age, mobile phone is no more restricted to conversations, but is a multi-platform device. Citizens can access information on government projects and schemes through the app,” Mr. Siddaramaiah said.
With a view to have the data on sowing pattern and crop that comes in handy to the government when compensation has to be distributed in case of natural calamities, The Farmers’ Crop Survey app has also been launched.
“Neither the Agriculture Department nor the Revenue Department has accurate data about the nearly 2.7 crore land holding pattern in the State. The government needs data on agricultural activities if a need arises for payment of compensation during natural calamities,” said Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda. To update the app, 15,000 officials have been deployed on the ground to tag GPS coordinates for the crop cultivated and they will also collect Aadhaar details from farmers, he said. Farmers will also be able to update their details such as mixed cropping, pictures and extent of land holding on the app.
