The first round of seat allotment under CET for engineering, agriculture and veterinary courses was completed on Sunday.
With many candidates anticipating counselling for medical and dental seats, the Karnataka Examinations Authority has urged students to exercise option 2, which is for students who are satisfied with their allotted seats but wish to participate in the next round.
This option makes them eligible to participate in the subsequent round by keeping their allotted seat on hold. KEA, in a press note, stated that it would conduct seat allotment to medical and dental seats shortly. Counselling will take place based on how students fared in NEET. Several candidates, who are aspiring for medical and dental seats, have taken part in the counselling process and chosen an engineering seat. They said they would give up the seat if they get medical and dental seats, of which there is a limited number.
The COMEDK said that the first round of allotment would be done on Monday. “We have decided to do this after the government requested us to postpone the counselling process in the interest of students,” a COMEDK official said. Several students had demanded that COMEDK counselling be postponed as these seats are three times more expensive than government quota seats.
