Minister for Higher Education R.V. Deshpande on Thursday briefed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about issues related to admissions to professional courses during 2015–16.

Sources said the government was likely to continue the consensual agreement with managements of private colleges, keeping in abeyance the Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Determination of Fee) Act 2006, for admissions to engineering, medial and dental courses.

All issues, including amendments to the 2006 Act, were likely to come up for discussion during the next Cabinet meeting, sources said.
