Day two of the Common Entrance Test (CET) proved to be tricky for students as they found five questions in the Physics and Chemistry papers to be “ambiguous”, and called for a review of the papers. Several students that The Hindu spoke to said they were stumped by the questions, and spent more time on them.
According to Sridhar, managing director of an educational institute, there were errors and ambiguity in three questions in the Chemistry paper and two in the Physics paper. One of the questions in the Chemistry paper also had a spelling mistake. Coaching centre heads, students and parents said there was a need for the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to review the question papers.
Sources in the KEA said students could file their objections.
“Students need not worry, and if there are errors, the subject committee will take a decision on them,” an official said.
Bhavana D. said she completed the Physics paper well within the stipulated time. Anarghya H. said she found the Chemistry paper difficult. “The paper was not lengthy. However, some questions from inorganic chemistry were tricky,” she said.
