The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has decided to print the category of question paper on the admission tickets given to Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) students. This measure, said officials, will ensure that students get the correct version of the board exam paper.

There have been instances in the past when regular candidates received question papers meant for repeaters who followed a different scheme. It was only when a student alerts the room supervisors that the question papers are changed.

A KSEEB official said the papers will also be colour coded to make sure that there is no confusion among invigilators. “Printing the question paper category on the admission ticket will help both students and invigilators cross-check the paper they have received. If it’s the wrong one, they can alert staff within the first 15 minutes, which is the time allotted to read the question paper,” said the official.

Board officials also pointed out that invigilators will be penalised if they distribute the wrong question paper to candidates. The 2019 SSLC examination is scheduled in March/April.
