Career counselling and guidance session on May 17

The 12th edition of the Annual Career Counselling and Guidance Session organised by The Hindu Education Plus, providing a insight into the array of opportunities available for students to shape their career in higher education after PUC, would be held at the Doddappa Appa Auditorium here on May 17.

Experts drawn from different parts of Karnataka and the representatives from the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) would provide the much-needed advice to students in choosing the right kind of courses best suited to shape their academic and professional career.

Besides providing details about the opportunities available in medical and engineering courses, experts participating in the counselling session would give details about the opportunities available in other streams of higher education.

For the first time, experts drawn from the field of fine arts and tourism, the two sectors with a world of opportunities, have been invited to throw light on the avenues available in these sectors.

The session would be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Karnataka H.M. Maheshwaraiah. Prof. Maheshwaraiah would speak on the opportunities available for the students.

Prof. Maheshwaraiah would also release the career handbook ‘Fusing Career and Passion’ — packed with well-researched articles by experts in the education field. The book would be given free of cost to all students who participate in the counselling session.

With a view to widen the scope of the counselling session, it has been decided invite artist V.G. Andani and Vanishree, principal of College of Tourism Administration, to throw light on the opportunities available in these two sectors.

General education expert Ameen Muddassir and his team from Bengaluru would be would be delivering a lecture on the opportunities available in the field of general education.

Representatives from KEA would be available at the counselling session to provide all the details and clarifications to the students about the process of online counselling and admission to the professional courses including Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Engineering conducted by the CET Cell. The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling 2015 is sponsored by AMC City Institutions, by Dr. T.
