Two unidentified men kidnapped a nine-year-old boy in Byatarayaapura on Thursday. They released him later in the day near his house, the police said.

According to the police, the boy, son of Imtiyaz Khan, was playing in front of his house. The duo approached him and asked him to take them to his father’s shop. While they were on their way, the duo overpowered him and bundled him in a car and sped away.

The boy’s uncle later received a call from the kidnapper demanding Rs. 50,000. The family approached the police, who started tracing the call. Sensing trouble, the abductors dropped the boy near his house and escaped.
