Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has sought a report on the Black Day planned by Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) on Rajyotsava Day [November 1] in Belagavi. He said that he considered it inappropriate. “I have sought a report on the event from senior officers. We will take action against the organisers if needed,” he said.

He was speaking to journalists at the Sambra airport here. MES has been organising Black Day on Rajyotsava Day to put forth its demand of merging Belagavi and surrounding areas with Maharashtra. The event is planned this year too. MES has invited leaders from Maharashtra to speak at the event.
