Body of 16-year-old found

The body of a 16-year-old, who drowned after a raft in which a group of nine persons were crossing the Krishna near Thinthani village in Surpur taluk capsized on Thursday, was recovered on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Wasim Jakeersab Khureshi of Kakkera village. They were crossing the river after visiting Mouneshwar Temple. The raft had overturned due to strong winds.

While local fishermen rescued the others, Khureshi drowned. The personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services launched the search operations on Friday.
