The State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a State-wide satyagraha demanding immediate resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George.

BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa on Monday demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah drop Mr. George from the Cabinet, as the Supreme Court has now ordered a CBI probe into the alleged suicide of Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy. “The Supreme Court has set a three-month deadline for the probe. Mr. George must resign and we have no objection if he rejoins the Cabinet if he is given clean chit,” he said.

The BJP will hold a protest satyagraha in Bengaluru on September 16 and on the same day, it will also be held in all district centres. Mr. Yeddyurappa claimed that they were in possession of documents that “beyond doubt” showed the involvement of Mr. Siddaramaiah and his family members in a scam. He said he would release the documents soon.
